The “Chronicle’s” Geneva correspondent- says’ the Japanese administration of the mandated islands in the Pacific was sharply criticised by tlie League (Commission, when there vyeije differences of approximately one third-between the imports and exports. The latter being greater, led to the suggestion that the Japanese ivere draining the islands’ natural resources, giving the natives little in return. Count Ito despite five hours crossexamination, was unable ,to supply information, beyond that contained in his Government’s report, though the official reason for his presence was to furnish particulars as required.
