Blum has appointed Doctor Irene ‘Joliot Curie, the thirty-nine-ye-r-o'd daughter of Madame Curie, the discovered of radium, as France’s first woman Minister. She will probably be Tinder-Secretary for Education, cr for Health. She jointly won the Noble Chemistry Prize last year. The ‘‘Daily Herald’s” Paris correspondent declares: This appointment is a prelude to womanhood suffrage in France.
