FACES BENGAL'S THRONG
■' CALCUTTA 3 , May. 3. Because of the failure of the monsoon for two years, Bengal is faced with the worst famine experienced for a century. , Nearly .6300; square miles cf country and more than three million people are affected.
Since; September the Government has. distributed £27iCOl, and the present Budget provides, £15,000 for relief and £75,030 for loans.; ■
An appeal has been made by the Popple’s Famine Fund for granfis. ,
There has Keen no rain for two years and six months.
