•Last week was the best for the air mail returns that the Post and 'telegraph Department has had since the service whs introduced on the Palm erston and Welling ton—Blenheim —Nelson runs, excepting the first week, when postings were ab normal, because,of the extraordinary interest on the first two days bj philatelists, throughout New Zealand. The number of letters carried by air each week has been: First week 3?,793: second week, 12,470 ; third week, 14189; fourth week, 11,776; fifth week 10.936; sixth week 12,402; seventh week. 15.993. ,In addition 3722 overseas air mail letters have been distributed tWoughout New Zealand, without' extra charge to addresses, on delivery by ship from Australia.
