WELLINGTON, December 13
The establishment of a competition in which the prize was a motor car, which could be Competed for only on the production of label' off a packet of tea was the subject of a reserved judgment, delivered by Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the r Magistrate’s Court to-day. The Magistrate held that such & packet .was a trading coupon within the meaning of the Trading Coupons'Act, 1931, and oonvicted the defendant, the Self Help Co-operative Ltd., of redeeming a trading coupon issued bv it (otherwise than in conformity with th e Act. The Magistrate said that the coupon was redeemed by acceptance of an entry, and not bv the delivery of a motor ear to th’o winner.
Defendant was fined £3, and ordered to pay costs amounting to £3 13s.
