Evidence continues to mount up in favour of the outstanding scenic attractions of Westland. The latest eulogy comes from Professor Tillyard, who has just toured the district on a. visit from Australia. ..He is convinced after his visit to the South Westland glaciers, that Westland has the finest scenery in the world Praise, of course could not he higher. Those who know the special point of interest lie refers to, will agree with his judgment as to the wonderful view from hake Matheson or from Alec’s Knob. Those are both within sight of. the. glaciers and give a glorious outlook.on nature’s handiwork. The Hon. P. Langstono, Minister of Lands, is also Minister in charge of Tourist Resorts, and as he is likely to visit the district in the New Year, no doubt the Member for Westland will see that the Minister has the opportunity of personally inspecting the glacier region. His chief ofScer, Mr Schmitt, lately went over the teritory and he, too, was more impressed than ever with the great natural scenic asset Westland possesses in its wonderful wonderland in the south There is every reason to say thank you to Professor Tillyard for his timely praise, which is uttered at an appropriate moment for the benefit of the district.
