HIS ACTIVITIES IN ENGLAND (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) July D. Mr J. G. Coates, New Zealand Minister of Finance, has been approached by motor manufacturers oi this country, some of whom find it difficult to comply with recent New Zealand legislation regarding the assembling of motor-cars in the Dominion. “My object,” he said, “is to find out why it 'is not’ possible for a proportion of United Kingdom manufacturers to conform with regulations which I believe to be advantageous to them. Captain G. B. Bolt and Captain M. C. McGregor, who are in England in connection with the purchase of -aeroplanes for commercial services in New Zealand, have been in touch with Mr Coates, and together they have visited certain aeroplane works. So far, they have not been able to find the typo of machine which will meet the exact requirements of the New Zealand passenger traffic. Mr and Mrs 1 Coates are spending the week-end with cousins in Herefordshire. At the Whitsuntide weekend they were at S win ton, Yorkshire, as guests of Sir Philip and Ladj Gun liffe Lister. This week they attended the second State ball of the season, held at Buckingham Palace.
