GOODWILL VISIT
JAPANESE ENVOY TO NEW ZEALAND. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 10. Jo a.m. foKIO, July 11. Replying to a toast at a farewell luncheon by the Chamber ol Commerce, Katsuji Debuehi, who is to begin a goodwill mission to Australia and New Zealand shortiv, said, “f carry no samples and no draft treaty. 1 carry solely the Japanese peoples’ most friendly greeting to the peoples of those great Dominions. “The peace of East Asia and the Pacific, is guarded bv Japan'. America and the British Empire, which Australia. and New Zealand represent. These three must co-operate in developing the resources of the region.” Ho pointed out that in 1034, Japa-nese-European trade was exceeded hv Japanese trade with South Pacific lands, among which the most prominent was Australia, of 260,000,000 yen. Trade with New Zealand was increasing steadily. He added that Japan, Australia and Now Zealand were complementary, economically and politically.
The Emperor gave a farewell .audience to Debuehi. His Majesty graciously expressed his .apprepation qf. the important, mission to distant dominions.
Debuehi is attending Hirota’s banquet to-night and the Premiers luncheon to-morrow, at which the entire Cabinet will be present. . .
