GAOL SENTENCE
INTOXICATED CAR CONVERTER. WOMAN CYCLIST INJURED. (Per Press Association, Copyright). DUNEDIN, July 11. After being treated on Tuesday at the hospital for internal trouble, Donald Christopher McLean, aged 26, took six brandies and port wines and then converted a motor car to his own use. He did not travel far before striking a woman cyclist who was slightly injured.

The police stated accused was con-, victed some time ago for being intoxi-. cated while in charge of a car, when his license was cancelled for six months. He was later charged with driving without a license. On the charge of intoxication while in charge of a car, McLean was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, and prohibited from driving for five years. On the charge of conversion, lie was also sentenced to three months’, the sentence to be concurrent.
