TRAIN DERAILED
THE LINE STILL BLOCKED' (Per Press Association, Copyright). GISBORNE, July 9. The engine and trucks derailed yesterday near Otoko when the train hound from Motuhora to Gisborne struck a big slip, still blocking the line, and it is unlikely the service will be restored until Friday.
With the exception of the two leading wheels the whole bulk of the fortyton engine is off the line, and tilted downhill. The removal of the trucks presents no difficulty, but the engine is believed to be extensively damaged, and'it is now probably that the locomotive will be jacked off the line for attention later, while the usual service is restored.
. The line is blocked elsewhere by heavy slips, and the relief train fiom Gisborne has so far failed to reach the scene of the derailment, though maintenance men are working there, having walked over the slips.
