The press expects the collapse of the Scheveningen attempts. “Allgemeine Zcitung” points out that Britain, having to protect her Empire’s most important line of communication, will strain every effort to operate League machinery. “Angriff” is convinced Italy means war, and declares Britain will not allow her to straddle the sources of the Nile, and settle the fate of Egypt.
CONCILIATION FAILS ' HAGUE, July 8. The Italo-A'byessinian conciliation commission at Scheveningen reached no conclusion, and may adjourn.
