RUGBY FOOTBALL

THE WESTLAND SUB-UNION. The Westland Rugby Sub-Union met last evening, there being present Messrs J. C. Stafford (chairman), D. Breeze, A. Cut bush, A. Stevenson, D. Nicholson, H. Wells, W. Reeves, F. McGregor, C. L. Harper, D. R. Dowel., W. hi. Stopforth and E. W. Heenan. 'J'he chairman welcomed Mr Nicholson as a delegate of the Kiwi Club in succession to Mr J. McClearv. He also welcomed back Mr McGregor who had been indisposed for a lew weeks.

The Woodstock and Kanieri schools wrote thanking the Sub-Union foi footballs.

Permission was granted the Excelsior Club to travel to Wataroa on Saturday, Julv 20.

Mr Pridmore’s donation of an ambuluance outfit was accepted with thanks.

A caution was administered to J. Johnson who was ordered off at Ross for behaviour on the field. Arrangements were made' in connection with the visit of the senior and junior representative teams to Greymouth mi Saturday. Mr Cutbush was appointed manager of the Ditfiinan Shield team. King (Ross) was appointed captain and G. Stapleton (Kiwi), vice-captain of the junion team. The seniors will travel by the midday train, and tl:c juniors by the early morning train.

The application of L. George for reclassification to juniors was refused. The School Club was granted permission to send its secondary school Newman Shield team to Greymoutli on July 13.
