The South African bowlers opened Sensationally, taking the first wicket with the first ball, then three more wickets in half an hour; for emv’en runs. The South Africans hatted quietly until they were 48, when Nourse and Vilioen went out in the same over. The former New Zealand wicketkeeper, James, played for the first time for Northants. South Africa, 5 for 114. (SiedLe 55 not out, Cameron 21. Dalton 13, not out).
