lONIC DELAYED (Per Press Association-. —Copyright.) AUCKLAND, July 10. The steamer lonic, which had loaded at Auckland portion of her cargo and was to have sailed at 5 p.m. yesterday, for Opua, did not sail because of the absence of two of the stokehold c-rew and their unwillingness when found to raise steam. The consequence was the ship missed the morning tide at Opua and permission had to he- sought from the Meat Board to omit to call at Opua and go direct to Gisbrne. Tins permission was granted and the ship is scheduled to sail for Gisborne this afternoon

MR- IOENS ILL HAMILTON, July 10. Mr lornsi (chairman of the Dairy Beard), and member of the Dairy Commission now sitting -at Hamilton, is indisposed, and is an inmate of a private hospital in Hamilton. It is' expected it will be a "fortnight before Mr lorns will be able to resume his duties. It is understood that although Mr lorns will not be present at the annual meeting of the Dairy Board tomorrow, lie has offered himself foi re-election as chairman of the Board.
