DARING BURGLARS
ONLY A SMALL HAUL.

AUCKLAND, May 3.
An audacious burglary was carried out last night in the Laundry Company’s premises in Sussex Street. The burglars levered a sliding door off its rails to gain entrance, and then carried a small safe from the office and down a flight of six steps into the factory. They could have beep seen by any passerby through a glass window. They removed the safe 160 feet across the factory floor, using a( truck for the purpose and then carried it down into the electric fuse room, which has a concrete floor. There they burst rt open with explosives, removed the money it contained and departed through a hack door. While in the office they ransacked every drawer and strewed the contents on .the floor. The safe contained only E e tty cash, about £5 in all.
