Two airmen, Gadzar, a 19-year-old Indian, of Bombay, and-Monsieur Hell, of Vienna, aged 20, made a forced landing in a fog over the Channel -tturing the night, when their petrol supply became exhausted. Their distress signals were observed by the crew of a French fishing boat, which was eighteen miles north-west- of Dieppe and both airmen were rescued, haying suffered no injury apart from a few bruises.

The airmen who had been undergoing advanced aviation instruction at Southampton wore returning from an air pilots’ conference at Geneva when the mishap occurred.
