\METCALFE SCORES SUCCESSES.

SYDNEY, May 24
At the Australian inter-University track and field championships ;at Sydney Cricket Ground to-day, J. P. Metcalfe, created a new Australian high jump record of 6ft sJins. He also Avon the sixteen pound shot putt with’ a; distance of 39ft, which is the University record. Metcalfe also won the broad jump championship with 22ft 6§ inches.
Melbourne. and Sydney Universities each gained sixty-four points for the various'championships.
