BUTTER GRADING
WESTLAND AGAIN WINS CUP.
FIFTH YEAR IN SUCCESSION.
Westland factories secured the,three top places in tlie butter grading competition, states the twenty-fourth annual report of the South Island Dairy Association for the year ended April 30. The scopes of th© three factories were exceedingly close, and were as follow :—lnter-Wanganui 94.378; Kokatahi 94.372; Arahura 94.321. -Mr George took over the managership of the • Inter-Wanganui factory at the commencement of this season only, and the distinction he. has earned so soon should be very gratifying not only to himself but also to his directors.
Mr McCallum, of the Kokatahi factory, who was the winner in the two previous years just misslti scoring again by thee* -proverbial “cat’s whisker.” -
Tiiis is the fifth year in succession that the buter trophy has gone to Westland. (Arahuna (Br Bennitt) won in 1929 and 1930, Kokatahi in 1931 and 1932, and Inter-Wanganui this year. Evidently the 'Cup ib destined to find .a resting place somewhere in Westland.
