OFFICE EXPLOSION

FIRE OUTBREAK IN WELLINGTON

WELLINGTON, May 19,

An explosion occurred at 1.30 in a tliriw-stmey building occupied by John Dickinson and Co., manufacturing stationers.' The force of the explosion blew out a number of windows and mado a hole in teh asbestos roof.

The lire which followed the explosion was soon brought under control by the fire bri.gl.ide and no one was injured. Ilhe roadway was covered with glass from broken windows. The sound of the explosion brought a large crowd into the street, hut the excitement quickly isubsnded. It is understood that the explosion occurred during packing operations on the ton floor. None of the machinery was damaged.
