Leaving the Mangere aerodrome by aeroplane at 8.30 a.m., Captain J. D. Hewett, of Auckland, arrived at Wh.tianga at 9 a.m. His machine circled round the hotel and dropped the Kerning’s issue of the “Herald”, thus creating a record for newspaper c'( livery ifi this district.
Captain Hewitt conveyed the first lady passenger from Mercury Bay to Auckland by aeroplane Inter in tlie morning,
