MONEY STOLEN FROM RESIDENCE WHILE OCCUPANTS WERE ASLEEP (Per Press Association — Copyright. ) AUCKLAND, November 19. A burglary was c'ommitted in Epson last night. A burglar entered the home of Mr William Monteith, at 9. King George Avenue, Epson, and stole £33 in notes from Mr Monteith’s clothes without disturbing either Mr or Mrs Monteith, who were asleep in a front bedroom.
The burglary was apparently well planned. Mr Monteith is a coppersmith with a business in the city. He is also interested in racehorses, and had a horse (Lueidus) racing fit Hamilton to-day. N 0 doubt the burglar thought that Mr Monteith would probably have a siim of money in the house overnight as he would have to leave early this morning for the Te Rapa course. This is the second occasion that Mr Motiteith’s house has been visited by burglars. A year ago when living in Mount Eden Road, a bedroom was entered in a similar fashion by n thief who stole £4O from Mr Monteith’s clothes.
