WATA.ROA SPRING SALE. Messrs M. Houston .and Co. report: The annual Lpring sale c ’ f surplus stock from South Westland was held at the above yards on Thursday to a good attendance of buyers. The yarding of cattle was a fairly he. a vy one, but with the exception of a few pens of good Hereford from far south, the bulk of the entry comprised coloured and non-descript sorts. The sale opened out much firmer than was expected, and exceptionally good prices were Realised throughout. We sold as follows :
On account of R. WiTiams, 5 year- !'•£:' sneers at £2 2s 6d, 4 yearling heifers at £2 lCs ; On account of RRitchie 13 2-year steers at £5, 10 2year heifers at £3 '■»- 6d ; On .account of Harris Bros. 6 2-year Hereford steers at £5 7s 6d, .5 at £4 17,s 6d. 5 ■fat and forward heifers at £5 2s 6d. 3 2-year heifers at £4 ; On account of (Rent 20 mixed steers at £4 lCs, 1 heifer at £3 2s 6d.
