MOTOR DAMACEI CONVICTION ENTERED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association I DUNEDIN, Jan. 25. An episode of the unemployed demonstration on January 9th was the destruction, of Mr Johnson’s motortruck in St. Andrew Street, which had its aftermath this morning in the Police Court, when George Jones, one of the men covicted of encouraging disorder, pleaded guilty to committing mischief, by damaging the windscreen and two head lamps, valued at £4 ]os. On taking out a prohibition order Jones was ordered to come up for sentenced within 12 months, provided that he paid for the damage in two instalments. RACING CLUB SECRETARY. WELLINGTON, January 25. A relief worker’s wife, when applying for a. meat ration on Saturday at the depot where the distribution was being made for those unable to obtain meat for the week-end, owing to the butchers’ holiday, was unwise to .slate that, her husband was at the races. Thereafter other applicants were questioned, none of those replying in the affirmative being given the right to free meat, if being considered that if they had money lor the races, I hey could buy meat.
