THAI)INC IN SYDNEY. In its monthly summary for March on conditions in New South Males the National Bank of Australasia says:— “Business i 6 extremely depressed. In Sydney retailers and wholesale merchants arc operating with minimum stocks and much reduced staffs. In suburban aroag and country districts, storekeepers and other traders are seeking to establish cash business in lieu of credit sales. In fact, nearly all trading is being done on a cash basis. and difficulty attaches to even small extensions of credit, [lie real estate market is d-ull, with buyers on the lookout for Budding is dormant. Stock Exchange turnovers are small, indicating cautious attitude among investors, but prices have been steady and show some improvement.
