The Trustees of the Riecarton Racecourse were to meet yesterday to decide (he application of the AY ostia 11 cl Racing Club to hold its benefit meeting on 30th ilist., hut advice was received that consent was withheld until Ashburton’s objection is considered by the District Committee of the C.J.C. on Tuesday next. The delay is very tantalising as the time to the meeting is short enough. It is not clear exactly what is the objection as the AA’estland Club’s meeting falls a week after the Ashburton meeting, and could not affect the gathering in any way.
