The “Daily Express” understands that the German Government is about to reduce the import duty on wheat. The reduction is expected to apply to twenty million bushels. REVOLTERS PUNISHED. For participation in the Madeira revolt, three infantry regiments and three artillery batteries were disbanded and thirty-two officers, including the leader of the revolt, General Diaz, cashiered. The latest from Madeira naively states “all is quiet except for talk.” NAZI LEADER FINED. BERLIN, April 30. The Nazi leader Doctor Joseph Goebels, failed to appear for trial on seven charges of slandering the police and was sentenced to one month and fined £B. He was further fined £SO for libelling the German administration.
