She will first go to Su, i tu embark the Governor of Fiji, who is also ‘High Commissioner of the Western Pacific. Afterwards the Veronica, will 'visit the Gilbert, Kliic-e, Solomon, and New Hebrides Groups, which are under the jurisdiction of the High Commissioner. The cruise will ■• occupy over two months, and the Veronica is., scheduled to arrive hitch at Suva in August. Tbe date of her return to Auckland has not been announced. HALS. Dunedin will leave Ancleland on Friday for Jlauraki Gull, where she will carry out gunnery and torpedo exercises with aircraft cooperation. She will he assisted' by H.M.S. Laburnum, and the two warships will return to port about June 20th. An interesting feature of the manoeuvres in the Gulf will he the co-operation of aircraft in work more advanced than has hoen attempted in New Zealand before. Aeroplanes will ii.> u«p ( | for towing targets for antiaircraft practice and for observation work for full calibre shooting. It is not yet known bow many aeroplanes will take pail, but it is possible one or more machines will bo secured from Christchurch to participate in.the exercises in conjunction with several machines <|uartcrod at Mobsonville Aerodrome. The machines will use TTohsonville as tjieir base throughout the period of the exercises.
