LONDON. June 4
The verdict in the Wliiteiiousc case was Unit death was due from cocaine poisoning, there being no evidence who administered the cocaine. The Coroner stated the police inquiries would continue. The medical .evidence showed the woman's feet were bare and clean. She could not have walked to the place where the body was found. Sir R. Spilsbury gave evidence that cocaine- had been taken through the mouth but lie did not .believe the woman was a drug addict.
NO INFRINGEMENT

Justice Luxmore decided that ‘‘Silver Wings” air was not taken from “.Madame Butterfly.” There was nothing in the case to establish an infringement of copyright.

Mistress Miircio, an Australian delegate, addressing the International Women’s Council, emphasised Australia’s pride in standard wages for workers and recommended the Council to agitato for a high minimum wage everywhere. She claimed that Australia was ahead of the world in legislation regarding the minimum wage.

The House of Commons considered the House of Lords amendments to the Coal Bill and disagreed : with practically all, particularly the amendments seeking to strike oht the district levy proposal, which was defeated bv 260 to 220 votes.
