The King has approved of the appointment of Lord Clarendon as Governor-General of the Union of Suth A9frica, in succession to MajorGeneral Lord Athlone, whose extended period of office will expire next January.
The King has approved of the appointment of Sir William Peel, Chief Secretary to the Government of the Federated Majay States,, to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Hong Kong, in succession to Sir Cecil dementi.
DEPARTS FROM LONDON
LONDON, Feb. 14
Dense, fog enshrouded the departure of Lord Bledisloe. There was a distinguished gathering at Waterloo railway station. Mr and Mrs Wilford presented an artistic basket of New Zealand fruit to Lady Bledisloe, who was weighted down with, a magnificent bouquet. Lord Colebrook represented the King, Colonel Desatge represented Lord. Passfield, and Sir E. Harding the Domionipns Office.
