STORM DISASTER
ON NEWFOUNDLAND COAST. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at noon.) ST. JOHN (Newfoundland), December 4. Another Newfoundland disaster is feared, silence continuing to conceal the fate of seventy persons, including lour women, aboard nine blissing vessels which left: on Friday for .Bonavista ports. Searching steamers reported no success. A hurricane, which overtook the vessels after they landed the summer catch of fish and loaded winter supplies, wrecked at least three other schooners, whose crews were rescued, and battered a number of steamers after fighting the storm off the coast for five days, and burning all woodwork when fuel was exhausted. The Norwegian steamer Hertha- was towed into port to-day reporting that three pilots had been drowned off the headlands, when a pilot boat capsiped as they were attempting to hoard the Hertha. One pilot was saved.
