TWO GIRLS DROWNED
AN HEROIC RESCUER. (Australian Press Association) (Received this dnv nt. 10 a.m.' SYDNEY, Dec. 5. Two school girls, Thelma Riley, aged 15, and Elvy Hamilton, aged 0, were drowned in the surf at lliarronl on the south coast. Two others in the same 1 party were rescued at the point of exhaustion. The tragedy was relieved only by the heroism of the bench inspector. Jack Rankin, who after rescuing two, searched for the others. He had to be dragged forcibly from the water and needed medical attention.
