DUNEDIN, December 3

He was a member of one off the worst bunches of young hoodlums that have been in Dunedin for some time, said Magistrate Bartholomew, when dealing with Francis Henry Taylor, aged 20, who appeared for sentence on a charge of having insufficient means of support. The police said accused left Dunedin without notifying the Probation Officer. He had a previous conviction and was a thief.

“He’s not a trier and always seems to have a grievance,” said tiie Probation Officer. He was sentenced to two years’ Borstal. DRAPERY SHOP FIRE. WAIROA, Dec. 3. At seven this morning a fire broke out in the rear of the show-room of Walker’s drapery store on. the Marine Parade. HOOKEY PROFIT. GISBORNE, Dec. 3. Also .John Henry Tolmie, aged 41, was charged with receiving the same. All were remanded till Saturday.
