NO UNEMPLOYMENT IN FIVE WEEKS. DEPARTMENTAL PLANS IN HAND. WELLINGTON, September 30. “ Although I cannot at this'stage give a forecast of the Government’s scheme in connection with unemployment, I can assure the country that arrangements are being made to carry the scheme into effect,” said the PrimA Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) when interviewed, to-day in connection with his statement in the House on Saturday morning that in five weeks’ time there would be no able-bodied men unemployed. Discussing the matter, Sir Joseph made it clear that the scheme was a reality. He said that Reform newspapers could discredit it as much as they lilted, .call it bluff or anything else, hut that could not alter a and he was standing by his statement absolutely.
