MINES TROUBLE, v (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 1: A conference of mining unions concluded to-day. It Was decided ' by one vote to sock a further conference with Premier Bavin, but not with the coal owners on the subject of reopening the mines. AIR RACE. MELBOURNE, Oc.t. 1. C. Pratt ,in a Aloth, is . leading -in the air race with 11. Aliller’s D.H.9, and It. Bardsley’s Moth second and third respectively. There were several minor mishaps on the flight to Melbourne, breakdowns occurring to three machines. Bertram Heath, in D.H.50, made the fastest flying time, but on handicap was last, owing to losing over an hour in starting from Sydney.

BRISBANE, Sept. 20. The Minister for Labour and Industry (Air Sizer) ’ announced to-day that negotiations had been completed . for th'c sale of tho LynuVirst State station and stock to the Australian Breeders’ Company, Ltd., for £70,000 cash. Lvndhurst station, which is situated in the Etheridge district,, has an area of 1293 square miles. The live stock comprise 13,463 head of Hereford cattle and 548 horses. The .price originally paid for the property 'by the Government was £170,000.
'l'bc Alinister also announced that the large numujr of inquiries by prospective buyers of other stations made him very hopeful that they would also be sold at satisfactory figures. Negotiations for the sale of several other stations were proceeding. At tho auction sale on Tuesday, Lyndhurst was passed in after the Australian Stock Breeders’ Company, Ltd., had made a bid of £60,000. The price obtained—£7o,oo0 —was the Government’s reserve, and therefore Air Sizer was quite satisfied ‘ with the deal. NEW SUNDAY JOURNAL. SYDNEY, Sept. 29.
