Requests Ifor permission to play matches were granted to Kiwi seniors to play at Brunner on Saturday, Kiwi juniors against Westport, and Grey Technical v. State School, also on Saturday. ThaWestport lads were a long way a heavier fifteen than the visitors, who nevertheless put up a good game, and they had several promising lads in their team who will be heard more from in the days to come. AH Hammond -had his Westport lads coached up well, he having taken a great interest 'in their football team since bis stay there. For Westport, Hardic (2), Cargill (2), Neil and Roberts scored tries, Cargill converting .two and Hardie one try. Roberts, the Hokitika captain, who was conspicuous throughout,- drop-kicked a nice goal soon after the start. Coyle and Guthrie also shaped well for the visitors.
