MARYLEBONE CRICKET TEAM A FAREWELL LUNCHEON. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyngbt). (Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 27. The New Zealand Association entertained Marylebone team, at luncheon. Sir J. Parr Hew back from Geneva. He said the luncheon., gave him a reason tor leaving the Assembly two days before the close. Nevertheless he held a firm belief in the value of the League to New Zealand cricketers and sportsmen. Mr Gilligan said he would not mention names but the team included two of the finest batsmen in' the world. Lord B!e<lisloe said lie .was taking to New Zealand in December, a team who would he hatting against googlies of an economic policy in the shape of seventy British farmers. They would visit a number of overseas dominions and would study up to date farming. The cricket team sails to-morrow. Gil.igan later declined to say who are two of the world’s greatest batsmen. The curious minded forthwith delved into the list of names. The majority favour "Woolley and Duleepsinhji and others would include Bowley.
