For the New Zealand Golf Championship, after a spell of fine weather and with the course in first class order, it was most unfortunate that the weather broke : for the ( opening , Pj&y at Belmont to-day. a When the early players were despatched there was a cold southerly wind with driving rain, which looks like continuing all day. Consequently play is most unpleaisant for the players and the conditions will affect scoring materially.
