GERMAN PLANE’S CRASH

BERLIN, August 24
The pilot and three passengers were killed when "a Lufthansa , aeroplane carrying out a regular service between Frankfort-on-Main and, Frankfort collided with trees at Fulda, owing to a fog and crashed.

NEW YORK, August 24
The Women’s Air Derby stopped at Wichita, In Koinsas, for the night, after a day in which no great misfortune met the competitors, except .that Miss Elder was lost for a time, and then found her way again. Tlie leaders in the race to-night were: Misses Baden, O’Donnell, Earhart, and Nichols, in that order. The Australian, Mrs Miller, stands last with ail elapsed time of 26 hours, 10 minutes, 40 seconds, as against Miss Baden’s 12 hours, 37 minutes, 46 seconds.
