Jn consequence of the employers’ intention lo appeal against the decision of Duisburg Court, Ruhr Steelworks are not expected to reopen during the present year, despite the Central Government’s grant of one million sterling for the relief of distress. The position is most serious. The municipality of Dusscldorlf is paying relief for a quarter of the inhabitants. Stoppages of other industries in consequence of the steel lockout is increasi'ng.
