Trade, declared that his administration entered the diplomatic field, not only to assume responsibility for ( anada s external affairs, but also -because they believed consultation and co-operation with BrirK'i Ambassadors abroad would serve to broaden the base and secure more firmly /fjlu* foundation .upon which the British Em pin* Government rested. It would make for British Unity, and its permanency as well as world peace.
