DETECTIVE’S HOPES

Detectives after working strenuously upon the Marrickville double murder cabled on the Ist. state they have a definite clue and are trying to locate a missing man. They have fairly reliable information of His movements since tlie date of tlie crime. It is understood Government’s reward is bearing fruit and developments are expected shortly.

VICTIM RECOVERS. SYDNEY, July 13. The victim of the Seftdn Pul'k outrage, cabled oil tlie third, has regained consciousness, hut her mind js a blank regarding tlie motorists’ attack upon her. All she recollects is that two men were in a shabby doubleseater car, the number or colour of which she has no knowledge. Detectives are extremely disappointed at the futility of their labours-.

INDUSTRIAL COURT. ADELAIDE, July 13. The President of the State Industrial Court, Dr Hewitson has refused the Amalgamated Engineers their 44hour week claim for the smelting industry at Port Pirie.
