Details of the County cricket matches are as follows: Playing Somerset, Essex in the first innings made 272 (O’Connor 101, Russell 67), White taking 3 for 85. Second innings 150 (L. Eastman 71). Somerset, first innings 369 (M. Lyon 141, Hunt-87), O’Connor taking 5 for 70. Second innings 54 for 1. Somerset won by nine wickets.

Against Kent, Derbyshire in the first innings made 214 (Storer 113), Freeman taking 6 for 71, and in the second made 231 (Lee 103), Ashdown taking 4 for 30, and Freeman 0 for 125. Kent, first innings 159 (Evans 52), Worthington taking S for 41 ; second innings 290 for 4 (Harding not out 152, Evans 55). Kent won by six wickets.

Yorkshire in the first innings against Surrey, scored 406 (Mitchell 73, Ley-, land 139), Ferfder taking 6 for 116. Second ininngs 121 for one (Sutcliffe not out 71). Surrey first innings 458 (Sandham 66, Fender 177; Jardine 15r), Macaulay taking 5 for 104. Surrey won oil the first innings.

Playing Glamorgan, Sussex in the first innings made 347, J. Parks scoring 53, Cook 66, and AVemsley 140. Ryan took 5 for 129. Second innings 115 for 6 (Langridge not out 56). Glamorgan, first innings 75, Tate taking 7 for 24. Second innings (followed on) 386, Bates scoring 54 and D. Davies 126 not out. Langridge took 4 for 68. Sussex won by four wickets.

Playing Lancashire, Hampshire in the first innings scored 138, 1L Tyldesley taking 6 for 41. Second innings 378 (Kennedy 128, Harfield 63, Boyes 68, Mead 63). Lancashire first innings 363 (E. Tyldesley 115, Iddon 62, Green 52, Hopwood 50), Newman taking 8 for 131. Second innings 155 for 3 (E. Tyldesley not out 80). Lancashire won by seven wickets. Nottinghamshire, playing Must Indies, in the first innings made 393, M'hvsall scoring 80, Cam 100 and A. Staples 84 not out. Second innings 246 for 6 declared (George Gunn 55). West Indies, first innings 378 (Bartleet 108, Hoad 73, Himes 62), Sam Staples taking 5 for 99. Second innings 85 for none (Constantine not out 67). Tlie game was drawn. For Nortliamptionshire against Gloucester, Bellamy made 65 and 100, M'oolley 108, and Brown 62. For Gloucester, Hammond scored 62, Mills not out 53, Sinfield taking 5 for 56. Gloucester won. 1

For Warwickshire against Leicestershire, Wyatt made 82 and 102. For Leicester, Shipman made 104, Armstrong 81, and Sidwell not out 100. Skekling took 4 for 3S. Leicester won.
