The Air Ministry is discussing employment of one of the new hig airships probably ItlOl, as an aircraft carrier to pay for its keep during the initial test flight without passengers from England to India. It is suggested it should carry new aeroplanes out'Wid, returning with an old one roqmring reconditioning. It is considered it could carry eight two-seat-ers, one Haviland Hount class, and a dozen smaller single-seater fighters, which could be dropped anywhere in Egypt or Iraq while others could he rehooked in mid-air as demonstrated at Fulham. Both new airships could in war time be converted Into air force carriers, probably of the type of Webster’s Schneider Cup winner, which bv virtue of speed is practically immune from gun fire. At the wool sales 10.293 bales were offered, of which 5,380 were Australian and 4913 New Zealand wool. There was an average selection of merinos suitable for both Yorkshire and the Continent.
