The Council met at .5 p.m. Present—Messrs W. Jeffries (DeputyMayor in the Chair), D. J. Evans, J. King, T. W. Duff, E. AY. Keenan, A. It. Elcock, and Dr Teiebclinann. The Auditor-General wrote forwarding the balance sheet for the year ended 31st .March. 1927, duly certified to as correct. Correspondence was read from the Secretary to the Governor-General notifying proposed visit to Hokrtika and a later telegram (received on Saturday) regretting that owing to the illness of bis Excellency the proposed visit bad to be cancelled.
