In our opinion, what is chiefly wrong with Reform is that it. diverges widely both in its principles and its practice from Liberalism, and it is only by the accepted and traditional standards of Liberalism that the magnitude of Reform’s disastrous failure can he properly estimated. It is because tbe majority of the people of New Zealand still hold firmly to the principles of demo:ratio Liberalism that the reaction against Refonii is now so vigorous anil widespread. —Auckland “Star.”
