With regard to the Christchurch denial that a Russian broadcasting station which is regularly heard in Xew Zealand is located at Khabarovsk, W. A. Watters states that the Russian was on the air yesterday evening with a l>otter volume than had been the case since last Sunday night. Punctually at 9.30 the announcer speaking in English called:—

"Alio. alio. radio R.E.X. Khabarovsk.” He repeated this twice slowly and then said in English, “Broadcasting on (iO meters,” also giving his identity very slowly. After a musical programme another announcer with a clearer voice slowly deliberated and called radio R.E.X. Khabarovsk. U.S.S.R. The new announcer kept repeating the call sign. etc., evidently with a view of making sure that everyone could understand. It was impossible in Palmerston North not to understand every word said.

Judge Herd man slimmed up this morning in the case against the Dalmatian named Paul Lendich, gumdigger, charged with murdering the infant of Rosie Te Whin, on August 23. It was alleged he had taken the child away shortly after its birth and no trace of it had since been found.
