i ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. r AN EASIER MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. ’ Messrs Matson nnd Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday : Fat Cattle.—There was a large yarding, and the quality was not equal to last week. The market was steady except for cows and light weight heifers, which w r er« a shade easier. Freezing buyers were not keen, owing to the shortage of space. Best steers sold from £22 to £26 10s; good £lB to £2l; light and unfinished £l4 to £l6 10s; cows and heifers £lO to £ls.

Store cattle.—There was a very large yarding, mostly of dry cows and odd lots of yearlings. The enquiry was bad and sales were hard to make. There were no quotable lines of steers yarded. Dry cows £6 to £8; bulls £8 10s to £l4; two-year olds mixed sexes £5 5s to £8 ss. The general tone of the market was easier.

Store sheep.—A largo yarding mostly of inferior and travelled owes, also store lambs than recent sales. All young ewes and fresh conditioned sheep were firm. Travelled and inferior sorts were decidedly easier. Best 2 and 4tootli ewes to 33s 6d s.m. ewes 25s 6d to 30s; others 17s to 22s 6d; best wethers to 33s 10s; medium 26s to 28s 6d; best lambs to 23s 6d; medium 16s to 20s 6d. The weather continues dry.

Fat sheep.—-A large yarding and in face of the. Faster holidays and factories not reopening till Wednesday next, the market was easier. Some extra good sheep sold well. Best wethers to 565; prime 37s to 51; others 31s 6d to 36s 6d; lighter and inferior 27s 6d to 31. Ewes were about the same basis. Lambs were easier, as only a few freezing buyers were operating. The weather and the large quantities of trave.led sheep, especially from the south had a decided easing tendency on the store market.
