POLLARD’S PICTURES. “ THE FOLLIES GIRL,” OLIVE THOMAS. On Monday evening tile beautiful “ Follies ” star, Olive Thomas (the “ Harrisop Fisher Girl ”) who made such a big impression in her first play, “ Madcap Madge.” will be presented by Pollard’s Pictures in her second Triangle feature. “An Even Break.” This big star artist of the midnight Follies, is seen in the part of a cabaret girl in what is described as a gigantic musical comedy on the screen, for although it is a picture, the “ Jazzy,” the ballets, the songs and choruses are real musical coniedy productions. As Clare Curtis, the cabaret girl, of the gay- eare-free, '^laughter-loving life of Broadway, Olive Thomas gives a sol end id impersonation of the girl who leaves it all' for the arms of the man she loves. The cafe scenes are miracles of splendour, and Olive Thomas leads a ballet of a hundred under multi-coloured lighting effects. The play is not altogether a comedy; it has its serious moments and the emotional scenes are notable for the splendid acting of Olive Thomas. “ Carriage Call ioi ” is tlie title of the sth episode of “The Secret Kingdom,” and carries on the adventures of Philip and the Princess Julia. The episode is a good one and with the Pathe Gazette will be screened as a first part to the star .(Olive Thomas) picture.
