WELLINGTON, May 3. A cable message has been received by the Bank of New South "Wales from its London office, dated May 31, saying: Wood market continues quiet, with values unchanged. Mutton.—Wethers s*d to 7|d, with «v better tone.

Ewes Md to Sid. Dull, with an absence of demand... Lambs lOd to lid. Steady, with no material change expected. Beef 2fd to s|d. Improved demand with short supplies. Pork 6d to 7£d, Butter is quiet at 166s to 168s. Chees is quietly steady at 82s to 83s.
