OAMARU, May 17. The second day of the Oamaru meeting was held in fine weather and th&re was a, fair attendance. The totalisator investments were again poor, the amount put through being £b.149, compared with £11,797 10s on the second day last year. Results: —
Pacific Hurdles Handicap, one and a half miles. —Frisco Mail (Shaw) 1, Petunia 2, Raconteur 3. Also started: Matatua, Pomposo. Matatua lost its rider. \\ on easily. Time, 2.49. The Shorts, six furlongs.—Prompter (Andertonj 1, Sunny Mac 2, Proliliman 3. Also; started : Beauty Light, Bonnywood, Medusa, Chichv.heat, Gold Brick, Kilmosca. Won hv two lengths. Time, 1.15 2-5. * :
President's Handicap, one and a quarter miles.—Kilfane (Emerson) 1. San Salvador 2, Prince Fero-ux 3. Also started: Bonnie Winkle. Clareina. Won by thr©e lengths. Time, 1.15. Waitingi Handicap, six furlongs.— Los Ambus (Emerson) 1, Knocklyn 2, Marm<a£3. Abo started : Bonnie Lake, Hurdy Gurdy, Red Cherry, Courceilette, Ogligio, April Showers, Olympia. Won by three lengths. Time, 1.15. Weston Welter Handicap, seven furlongs.— Vasilkov (Jones) 1, Radial. 2, Coastguard 3. Also* started: Carmine, Dancing Days, Lady Blissful, Bodyguard, Golden King, Gossard. Won by a neck. Time, 1.28 4.5.
Fernbrook Handicap, five furlongs.— Goidtown (E. Shaw) 1, Queen Balboa 2, Buoyant 3. Also started : Paddy's Hope, Cumbrae, Tempe, March Off, Soltoe, Lady Liffey. Won by a length. Time, 1.1 4.5.
Members' Handicap, six furlongs.— Corn Rigs (Wilson) 1, Bella Lake 2, The Reaver 3. Also started: Avispado, Pickaninny. Won by a lensth. Time, 1.15 2.5.
